Most personal finance apps are built for people who already have money. They're beautiful, expensive, and assume you have a surplus to manage. If you're living paycheck to paycheck — trying to figure out how to pay off $8,000 in credit card debt while keeping the lights on — they're not built for you.
Groundwork was built from scratch for that situation. It started as a tool for one family trying to get their finances under control — track spending, build a debt payoff plan, and actually see a date when things would be different. It grew from there.
Because the people who need it most can't afford a subscription. Simple as that. Groundwork will always be free to download and use. Your data stays on your machine. No account, no subscription, no ads.
Groundwork is in active beta. It works — people are using it — but we're still finding and fixing issues. If something breaks, the ⚑ Report button in the app sends us the error log directly. We read every one.
