Groundwork is a desktop application. Your financial data — transactions, balances, budgets, debt information — is stored in a SQLite database on your computer. We have no access to it. It never leaves your machine unless you explicitly export it.
If you sign up for email updates on this website, we store your email address and name to send you product updates. We use SendGrid to deliver emails. We never sell or share your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@groundworkfinance.app.
If you use the optional AI monthly report feature, Groundwork sends aggregated financial data (income totals, spending totals, category summaries) to Anthropic's API to generate your report. No account numbers, transaction descriptions, or personally identifying information is included. This feature requires you to provide your own Anthropic API key and is opt-in only.
